About the Coach

Kim Beckinsale is a Level 2 Triathlon Coach affiliated with Triathlon Australia and is the official Noosa Triathlon Club “Junior Triathlon Coach”. She is a Triathlon Queensland Trainer and Assessor which involves the training and assessment of Level 1 Coaches and the assessment of athletes for “draft legal” racing endorsements.

Kim is the current Triathlon Queensland 16-23 Yrs Talent & Emerging Talent Squad Head Coach.

Kim has been involved with the sport of Triathlon since 1991 when she first competed in the Noosa Triathlon. She went on to race at the elite level and be selected in Australian Elite Teams for Triathlon and Duathlon, and participated in the 1996 St George Grand Prix Series which was a series instrumental in putting Triathlon on TV and promoting the draft legal format as an “Olympic Event”. She was the Olympic Distance Triathlon Age Group World Champion in 2003.

Kim is currently the “Chair” of the Qld Schools Triathlon Committee a position she took on in 1995. This involves the organisation and management of Regional, State and National Schools Triathlon events as well as coaching and managing school aged triathletes. Kim was the QAS “Talent Search Coach” in Brisbane from 2001 – 2005.

Kim has coached 3 National Schools Champions (plus 3 x 2nd 1 x 3rd) and 3 State Schools Champions (plus 3 x 2nd , 2 x 3rd). Some of the most successful athletes Kim has coached include James Seear, Laura Luxford, Adam Carlton, Charlie Boyle, Louise Kerr, Jacqui Waters, Campbell Schmidt, Skye Nicholas, and Brigitte Fischer.

Kim specialises in the coaching of junior triathletes because she believes that junior development plays a vital role in the long term development of an athlete. Balancing training with family, friends, education, and leisure time is the key to a healthy and happy future in whatever direction or pathway an athlete may choose to follow!
